Company Policy regarding Warranties, Returns and Service
Hatfield Cycles strive to build and maintain a long standing relationship with its clients by providing you with the best quality products and service through our knowledgeable staff and reputable local and international suppliers.
To ensure clarity on returns, warranties and service – please note the following:
Please inform our staff clearly of your intended use for the products purchased
Should you have informed our staff clearly of your intended use of the product, and it is found afterwards that it is in fact not suitable for the required purpose in contrast to what the sales representative advised, we will gladly exchange the product, accompanied by its original proof of purchase within 10 days.
Please note that the product must be un-used, and in its original packaging.
Due to hygienic reasons we unfortunately cannot return cycle shorts or items under similar public health regulations.
We can also not exchange any products that are partially or entirely disassembled or altered.
(This is in line with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008)
Please note that warranties are carried by the international manufacturer and/ or its local agent and not by Hatfield Cycles.
We will however do everything in our ability to address your return with the utmost attention, care and assist the manufacturer or its agent to complete the process in the shortest possible time frame.
The warranty periods are different between various manufactures; please ensure that you confirm the relevant period and terms and conditions when purchasing a product.
The aspects covered under warranty will also be different between various products and manufacturers, but will normally provide cover against manufacturing and material defects and a product will not be covered due to:
misuse and poor maintenance
wear and tear (including a crash)
damaged in transport
damaged in storage
damage due to non-observance of the instructions or restrictions as defined in the product manual
Any modification or alteration by any person not authorised by the manufacturer or its agent
We recommend to our customers to obtain additional insurance to cover wear and tear on their bicycles and high value items.
Faulty items returned must be accompanied by an original proof of purchase.
Good must please be returned in a clean and hygienic condition.
Upon return, our technical staff (in conjunction with the agent’s representative where applicable) will inspect the goods to verify a potential valid claim.
Hatfield Cycles will send the product under potentially approved claims to the relevant supplier at our cost.
The manufacturer will inform us if the warranty claim has been finally approved or not.
As soon as the claim has been approved, the manufacturer will inform us of the refund, exchange or replacement, based on their warranty policy.

- Collections strictly afternoons only
- Storage costs at a min of R25 p/day will be charged after of non-collection of goods
- Goods not claimed within 30 days, shall be sold to defray costs.
